Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Caliber Hoover Concrete and Masonry website and any estimate, scheduling or work you arrange with us through it. By using the site or booking work with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You can still call us at (205) 236-6688 with any questions before you decide.
What we do
Caliber Hoover Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor based in Hoover, AL. We handle brick, block, stone and concrete work for homes and properties in Hoover and the cities around it, and you can see the full list on our home page.
The service descriptions on this site explain how the work usually goes. They aren't a promise about your specific job, because every wall, chimney, foundation and slab is different once we see it in person. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free and on site, and asking for one doesn't obligate you to hire us. Prices and general cost information on this website are for reference only and aren't a quote.
Your price comes from the written estimate for your job, based on what we can see at the visit. Some conditions stay hidden until the work is open, like damaged brick behind a veneer, a cracked footing or soft soil under a slab. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you, and agree on any change in price or scope with you before we go on.
A written estimate stays good for the period it states. After that, material costs and our schedule may have changed, so we may need to update it.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a start date when you accept the estimate, but it's a target, not a guarantee. Masonry and concrete depend on the weather, because rain, freezing temperatures and extreme heat can ruin fresh mortar or concrete, so we'll move a day rather than pour or lay brick in bad conditions.
Delays from weather, material shortages, permit timing or other things outside our control don't break our agreement with you. We'll tell you as soon as we know a date is moving and set a new one with you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call or message us as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you may owe for those materials and the work done up to that point, as your written contract states.
Payment
Your written estimate or contract sets out any deposit, when payments are due and the ways you can pay. Payment is due on the terms written there.
If a payment is late, we may pause the work until it's settled. Alabama law may also give contractors other rights over unpaid work on a property, and nothing in these terms waives them.
Your part of the job
We ask you to give our crew safe access to the work area, tell us about anything you know is buried or hidden there, like sprinkler lines, drainage pipes or old footings, and keep children and pets clear while we work.
You're responsible for knowing your property lines and for any approval your homeowners association requires. We'll help you think through the questions, but the final say on your property is yours.
Warranty disclaimers
Any warranty on our work is the one written in the contract for your job, and it covers only what that contract says. Everything on this website is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind.
Some things are normal for masonry and concrete and aren't defects. Concrete can show hairline cracks as it cures and settles, new mortar and replacement brick or stone won't match older material exactly, and natural stone varies in color and texture from piece to piece.
We aren't responsible for problems caused by things outside our work, such as poor drainage, ground movement, tree roots, freeze and thaw damage, heavy loads the work wasn't built for, or later changes or repairs by someone else. Products and materials carry their makers' own warranties, which we pass along to you where we can.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent Alabama law allows, Caliber Hoover Concrete and Masonry isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, arising from our work or your use of this website.
To the same extent, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing here limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Settling a disagreement
If something about our work isn't right, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest when we can come back out and look at them with you. Please give us a fair chance to make it right before taking any other step.
If we can't work it out together, either of us may take the matter to a court with authority over it in Alabama.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Our website
We work to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we can't promise it's complete or free of errors. The photos, text and design on this site belong to us, and you may not copy them for commercial use without our permission.
Links to other websites are there for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for what those sites say or do.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a signed contract for work already agreed, unless we both agree in writing.
Questions
If you have a question about these terms, call us at (205) 236-6688 or send us a note through our Contact page, and we'll get back to you within one business day.
